Eden Hazard is “football’s future star”, Zinedine Zidane said in an interview published last month by Marca newspaper, where he also stated that he would transfer the player “in the blink of an eye” to Real Madrid.
Madrid and France’s ex player said that Hazard, aged 19 and resembling Lionel Messi in terms of stature, is “very good and will become greater still”.
“He is very fast, able and can become a great football player. I would transfer him to Real Madrid in a blink of an eye.” Zidane declared, who is Florentino Perez’s special counselor at Real.
In the last two seasons, Hazard has blown everyone away and become the target for all major teams. He won last season’s Best youngest player title in League I and continued to amaze. In the season of 2009-2010, Eden has 85 games as belonging to Lille, 11 goals, his amazing passes worked for all their worth by Pierre Alan Frau or Gervinho. The last big game of the midfielder was in the 16 of the Europa League, against Liverpool, where he scored the only goal of that leg.
An excellent dribbler of the ball, along with great speed, Hazard possesses superb vision which enables him to pick some wonderful passes, making him more of a copy of Leo Messi then Zinedine Zidane.
Even though he has just signed a contract renewal with Lille, the player admits he would have liked to have a try with Spain or England. “I’m delighted about these teams’ interest in me. Right now I’m trying to think only about my team, I have a contract with Lille until 2014. Maybe one day I will end up playing in the Premier League or Primera. I like both championships, but it depends on the offer and on Lille”, Hazard said according to Sky Sports.
Needless to say that Man. United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Real Madrid are among the "big sharks" waiting for the right moment. Still, acording to belgium's head coach, Hazard still needs to work hard than he does today, which means that this suposed lack of maturity might interfer with the players evolution. But he is no Mario Balotelli either!
The young Belgian is free to leave France, only after an extremely high sum is paid for him, estimated at about 14-25 million euros. Will 2011 be the year of Eden Hazards explosion?
